Our History

Vistoso Community Church began as an answer to prayer, when in the late 1980’s, two women in the area took it upon themselves to begin to pray for a Bible-believing church in the Rancho Vistoso area. In 1992, worship services began as a mission of Catalina Baptist Church, and in 1993 the fledging church was able to call its first pastor. The Church continued to grow and held its first service in its new building on the current site in August of 1999. Ongoing growth made a second building project possible which was completed in October of 2010 with the addition of a Fellowship Hall.

From our origin as a Southern Baptist mission, we have evolved to an independent Bible-based fellowship with a ministry to the retirement communities of Sun City Oro Valley and SaddleBrooke, as well as the surrounding area. For a more detailed description of what we think God is calling us to become, please see our Our Vision section for Ministry and Missions.
